JEE Main 2017: Application Form, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Dates

Candidates of JEE (Main) – 2018 have to apply online only. There is no printed application form for JEE (Main). 2. Please ensure that you are filling genuine application form available online at JEE (Main) website www.jeemain.nic.in.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2018

The Central Board of Secondary Education is released JEE Main 2018 Notification. Interested candidates can keep visiting the JEE Main Official website, jeemain.nic.in. By looking at the JEE Main notification applicants can get the clear idea about the eligibility criteria, application process, examination dates and other major details. Date of Birth : Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1992 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates who are born on or after October 01, 1987 are eligible.

Qualifying Examination : Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2015 or 2016; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 are eligible to appear in JEE Main 2018.

Number of Attempts : The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at JEE (Main) shall be limited to 03 (three).

Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination : Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/ qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Main) – 2018. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE (Main) 2016 and if such candidates appear in JEE (Main) 2018 by furnishing wrong information, their rank/result will not be declared.

Diploma passed candidates also can apply for JEE Main Examination.

JEE Main 2018 Application Form

  • Candidates are required to fill the JEE Main Application Form 2018 only through online process.
  • No other modes will be entertained to fill and submit the application form.
  • The application form will be released from the first week of December, 2017.
  • Candidate can submit only one application form. More than one application form filling will lead to rejection.
  • There is no need to send the printed application form to the CBSE Board.

The application fee payment can be made through two modes online mode (debit/credit card) or offline mode (e-challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC Bank).

JEE Main Application Form Correction:

  • Candidates will have a chance to made correction in the application form.
  • Correction period will be announced for one week in the second half of January, 2018 (Tentatively).
  • Any further corrections in application form after closing the correction period will not be entertained.
  • Only selected and permitted entries may be modified.

Number of Questions  It is consisted of 90 MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions).
Subjects  The paper will be asked from subjects as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Language  Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
Mode  It will be commenced via both; online & offline.
Duration  3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
Marking Scheme  4 marks for each correct response.
Negative Marking  1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response or multi-responses.

Courses  It is held for Architecture course. (B.Arch).
Number of Questions  It is consisted of 82 questions (MCQs) out of which 30 questions from mathematics, 50 questions from aptitude test and 2 questions (descriptive) of drawing test.
Subjects  The paper will be asked from subjects as Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing.
Language  Hindi, English (candidates can select while filling the application form)
Mode  It will be commenced via offline mode.
Duration  3 hours. (4 hours for the candidates having 40% or more disability)
Marking Scheme  4 marks for each correct response (2 questions of drawing will carry 70 marks).
Negative Marking  1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect or multi-responses.
